I hold my Bachelor of Science degree in social work from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota and my Master of Science degree with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy from North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. In addition, I am trained at level I and Level II of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). For more information about EMDR, please visit www.emdria.org. I have also completed Level I of the Gottman Marriage training.
I consider myself to use many different approaches in the therapy room, always keeping in mind the need of the client is most important, and using sound methods. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, and family systems, among others in an eclectic approach.
My greatest desire in therapy is to help you find the resources that will help you gain the ability to change distressing situations into ones that can become strengthening opportunities. As a Christian, I am willing to integrate Christian faith, or your faith choice, into the therapy process, should you as a client desire this.
